The Anointed Cherub

“Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God, thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so; thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou was perfect in thy ways from the day that thou was created, till iniquity was found in thee.” Ezekiel 28:11-15 (KJV)

How the Serpent became Satan, the Devil, and the great Dragon

Before the Serpent became Satan, the Devil, and the great Dragon, he was created to be a priestly cherub. He was placed in the holy mountain of God as the Anointed Cherub. He is described as the total sum, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. His musical instruments were created in him. His priestly garments were adorned with jewels. He had access to the garden of Eden. It appears that he was brooding over the stones of fire. These stones of fire became a point of contention. However, he was perfect in his ways from the day he was created until iniquity was found in his heart.

“By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.” Ezekiel 28:16 (KJV)

The Bible says, ‘Let your lifestyle be without covetousness, be content with such things as you have for God says I will never leave you or forsake you.’

Definition of covetousness is “greedy, acquisitive, grasping, avaricious mean having or showing a strong desire or especially material possessions. Covetous implies inordinate desire often for another’s possessions.” Online Dictionary

The Anointed Cherub wanted to be God. He wanted all the power. He wanted the praise and the glory. So he set about overthrowing God from his throne. Isaiah 14:12-14, tells us what he planned and what he said in his heart, composed of five “I wills”,

I will ascend into heaven

I will exalt my throne above the stars of God

I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds

I will be like the highest

“Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness…” Ezekiel 28:17a-b (KJV)

“Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy traffick…” Ezekiel 28:18a (KJV)

Revelation 12:3, says ‘the great red dragon, with his tail, drew a third part of the stars of heaven and did cast them to the earth.’

my personal opinion on what “the traffick” might be, is the anointed cherub created division within the angelic ranks through spinning conspiracies.

God judges to the Covering Cherub:

Ezekiel 28:16-18 (KJV)

I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God

I will destroy thee, O covering cherub from the midst of the stones of fire

I will cast thee to the ground

I will lay thee before kings that they may behold thee

I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee

I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee
