Revelation chapter 17 reveals a woman seated on the back of a beast. The woman has a title, “Mystery, Babylon the Great Mother of Harlots and abominations of the Earth.”

Revelation 18, reveal her to be that ancient spiritual ruler called the Queen of Heaven. She is revealed in Isaiah 47 as The lady of the kingdoms; Jeremiah 7:18 and 13:18. In Jeremiah chapter 44 provides greater details.
Isaiah and Jeremiah accounts of the Queen of Heaven appears to be fulfilled in Revelation 18.
The spiritual symbol of womanhood is used in Revelation chapters 12, 17 and 18 because the only way to get into the earth or have any rights in the earth is through a woman.
According to Genesis 3:20 Eve became the mother of all living. The name Eve means living.
Judgment
The Queen of Heaven is in alliance with kings of the earth and the merchants. The kings of the earth and the merchants have become rich through her schemes. She made the nations drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, Revelation 18:3.
According to scripture she boast, “I am”, “There is none beside me”, “I shall not sit as a widow”, Isaiah 47:8, which is quoted in Revelation 18:7.
How has she made the world drunk on the wine of her wrath?
Jesus calls it the cares of this world, Matthew 13:22. He also names the deceitfulness of rich as “things” which choke out the word of God!
The Bible talks about the wine of her wrath. Revelation 12 says the Devil that has been cast down, is coming with great wrath because he knows his time is short.
He is getting people drunk on power; drunk on greed, and lust for more. Similar to Genesis chapter 6, where the gaints took them wives of all they chose. The earth, in those days was filled with violence. Every thought of man’s imagination of his heart was only to do evil.
We are living in days where acts of hate and violence fills our airwaves and will continue to increase. Remember, Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. The only thing that keeps you from becoming a victim is your relationship with God, Revelation 12:11.
Our battle is not with people (Ephesians 6:12) but spiritual wickedness working through people (Ephesians 2:2). This is why a person can casually walk into a grocery store and murder innocent people.
Revelation 17:18, “And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”
The woman is a symbol of the governmental rule and reign of Satan.
Why would God cause the devil to be cast down to the earth?
1. Because Satan has been defeated
2. God has given us the tools to defeat him
3. Jesus said, in Revelation 3:20-21, he who overcomes will sit with me in my throne even as I overcame and am sit down in my Father’s throne!
4. We must rule him
