God gives Adam seed

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” Genesis 1:29

Notice God didn’t give him a few seeds, but he gave Adam all the seed, which is upon the face of the earth. That is trillions and trillions of seeds with unimaginable abilities and power!

God gave Noah a seed in the form of a vessel called an Ark that would take him and all those who believed through the great flood that was coming upon the earth.

God makes a covenant

“And God spake unto Noah, and his sons with him, saying, and I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and your seed after you;” Genesis 9:8-9

Covenant is the strongest agreement; contract between God and man. God never moves contrary to covenant. He binds himself to man through the agency of covenant.

We have not understood the power of covenant with God. But I guarantee you, if you ever borrow money from a bank and don’t pay it back, you will learn quickly, fast, and in a hurry the power of legal agreement called contract, or a binding agreement.

God’s covenant promise to Abraham

God gave Abraham a seed that would be as numerous as the stars of heaven and sand on the seashore.

For example, God said to Abraham:

“And said, by myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” Genesis 22:15-18

That promise was fulfilled in Jesus Christ coming to earth

According to John 1:1-3,

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him and without was not anything that was made.”

When God said, “Let us make man in our image after our likeness…” Genesis 1:26, we know “God the Word” was part of the equation.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

God personally enters into a covenant with man

Mark 14:23-24, “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, “Take, eat, this is my body.” Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, “this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many.”

This is the new covenant that was signed, written, and established upon the blood of God the Word made flesh. What we call a blood covenant.

The covenant is recorded in Matthew 26:26-29, Luke 22:19-20, John 3:56-58; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30

God binds himself to you through covenant based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

When I first heard the message of God making covenant with man, it was as if someone was speaking in a foreign language. Even after hearing about the covenant and participating in Communion Services, the concept of covenant was still fuzzy until I saw God’s dealings with Abraham. God swore by himself to Abraham because he couldn’t find “a greater” to swear by,

“For when God made a promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware himself, saying, Surely BLESSING I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:13-15

What did Abraham obtain through faith?

The seed!!!

According to Galatians 3:16, Christ was the seed to whom the promises were made. He was the seed sown into the earth through which we became the heirs of salvation!

“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29

What promise?

‘I sware by myself that in blessing, I will bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee and you will possess the gate of your enemies’

For the longest time in my Christian life, this promise of salvation would work periodically. When I look back, I realize I stuck between two systems. I was in the Word of God, and I was in the world. When I came up against any kind of pressure, I ran to my credit cards for relief. I charged up my credit cards until I found myself in the debtor’s prison.

But there was a time when I came out of the debtor’s prison, where I embraced the sworn oath promise of God. I plead my case before God in the presence of my enemy, Satan. I took possession of the promises. And I have been reaping the harvest every since.

The best illustration that I know to help others to realize the gospel message, the word of truth, the seed of the kingdom is; I heard of people who were falsely accused and imprisoned for something they did not do. These people went to the law library in their prisons and studied the law. They became experts in the legal process. They became knowledgeable about the law and were able to defend themselves before a judge in a court of law.

You have to know the word of truth when it comes to claiming the promise(s). Satan will fight you in every way that he can. He will put sickness and disease on you and your children. He will destroy your family and home. Jesus said, ‘The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.’

1 John 3:8 says, ‘the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil’

The promise is, ‘I will bless you, I will multiply you, you will possess the gate of your enemies; which is the promise of deliverance, help, breakthroughs, miracles, wisdom, knowledge, etc…

Satan is destroying people’s lives through the fentanyl trade, but the promise is,

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteousness right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Satan can not handle the pressure of the word of God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7

“And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Romans 16:20

Plead the blood of the Jesus Christ, the blood of the Covenant of Grace!!!

Grace and Peace!!!
