The apostle Paul went to the city of Corinth to preach the gospel.
The Lord spoke to Paul in a night vision and said,
“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: for I have much people in this city. And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.” Acts 18:9-11
Satan is the god of this world
In Corinthians 4:4, the apostle Paul said, ‘Satan is the god of this world’s system.’ Every day, his control is increasing over every area of people’s lives.
This reality can be seen in the banking industry, in economics, in the medical field, in the political arena, in the entertainment field, and in the food industry. We are even being globally tracked through our cell phones.
Jesus said something about how he lived in the world, and so did his apostles. Jesus said,
‘I’m in the world but not of the world.’ John 17:14-17
Jesus could say this because he knew God as his source. He fed thousands from meager resources. For example, he fed 5000 men from two small fish and five barley loaves of bread. See John 6:1-14
He turned water into wine, John 2:1-11
Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead. He got a woman set free from an impossible court case, John 8:1-11. He spoke 15 words that caused a crowd of vengeful men to drop their rocks.
God is our source, our total source.
In regards to the LORD’S table, what we call Communion; Jesus said:
“He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath send me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.” John 6:56-57
When the world’s system comes up against you and seems like there are no answers, know in that moment the answer is with God and lives in you!
For example, Luke 15:11-32 is the story of the prodigal son who was stuck in an impossible situation where nobody would help him. It was in this impossible situation that he realized he could go to his father and get his needs met.
1 John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
God has put the power inside of you!
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”
The witness of God is the gift of eternal life. It is the same gift by which Jesus turns water into wine, fed the multitude, healed the sick, cured illnesses, and set the captives free.
Jesus spoke of the promise of the Father in Acts 1:8 as receiving power to be his witness in all the world.
“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” 1 John 5:12.
Infinite power
The only source of true pure power is rooted in God the Father. It is called eternal life because it sustains all things.
Examples of pure infinite power,
The Breath of Life transforms dirt into the image of God, a living soul Genesis 2:7. The living Father, John 6:58
River of life flowing out of Eden, Genesis 2:10
Jesus identified rivers of living water as the gift of the Holy Spirt, John 7:37-39
A well of living water springing up into everlasting life, John 4:14
The apostle John identified Jesus as the Word of Life, 1 John 1:1-5
“AND He shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb ” Revelation 22:1
The problem that must be solved in the time afforded us:
Learning how to come to the well and drink.
Working through all the knotty issues of unbelief
Forsake the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Become proficient at drinking from the true source until you know that you that you know God’s system works!!!
The exhortation that speaks to us:
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the waters of life freely.” Revelation 22:17
Grace and peace
