Yes, eating the tithe! The tree of the knowledge of good and evil – out of all the others in the Garden of Eden – was the ONE TREE that was designated as the tree of sacrifice.
Adam was created to be a servant, to till the ground (Genesis 2:5) to bring earth into a Garden of Eden like state. He was given dominion over all the earth’s systems. He had dominion over everything that crowl, flew, swim, and move upon the earth.
The Seven Day of Creation, automatic growth, unfettered prosperity
Everything was self-sustaining, even Adam. Adam had a supernatural body. It didn’t age; get tired. It wasn’t until after the fall that his existence was tied to the ground. Everything was on steroids. Growth and more growth and more growth were the keywords. Adam had to subdue it and bring it into the form of the Garden of Eden.
The SEED was sown
Once Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the seed was sown, and the door was opened. Their eyes were opened to their environment. They knew they were naked. Up until that time, they sheltered within the glory of God.
Adam hides among the trees of the garden. His time is consumed with finding a solution to death that has broken out in his body.
God calls out, “Adam, where are you? Adam responds, “I heard your voice, and I was afraid.” Fear 😨 😱 😳 is released!
Adam hides from the presence of God, the source of Life, the One gives life!
The spirit of fear is the source of all phobias!
Accountability
The moment Adam ate, he died, not because God killed him. Within the system itself, the way it is designed, death was automatic. Now God comes in, explains to Adam the consequences of his choice. He defines the death cycle:
God said,
“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake: in sorrow shalt eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles SHALL IT BRING FORTH TO THEE; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:17-19 (KJV)
The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the root source of all frustration, aggravation, disappointment, depression, anger, fear…
In my next post, we look at the lesson of Cain and Abel. Genesis chapter 4 says in the process of time, Cain and Abel bring tithes (the tenth) as a sacrifice to God.
The system still demands a sacrifice because that was the way it was designed. One important, very important thing that lots of people don’t understand. This one important ingredient that people overlook and it causes lots of heartache:
Everything within the system is based on a contract.
Everything within the system is contractual. When introducing the New Covenant, Jesus said, “This is the new covenant (contract) in my blood…” See Luke 21:20
Once Adam broke the covenant (the contract), God made a new covenant (contract). God sheded the blood of innocent animals to make them clothes, a covering for Adam and Eve.
This new contract is based on the blood of an animal sacrifice as a replacement for the sacrifice of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 3:21, says
“Unto Adam also and his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”
( The first set of clothing was designed by God to cover their sin both spiritual [atonement] and physically their nakedness)
Leviticus 17:11 says, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”
The sacrifice changed from a fruit based sacrifice to a blood sacrifice.
The first covenant (contract) is called the Edenic covenant (contract). See Genesis 2:15-17.
The second covenant (contract) is called the Adamic covenant (contract). See Genesis 3:13-24.
The Edenic contract is the first contract ever made. It is the basis of all future contracts. Today, the most popular ones that every human has been touched by in some way or another in this system of death is called a binding contract. This is the contract you enter into when you get a new credit card or get new cell phone service. Other forms of contracts are retail contracts; employment contracts; rental contracts, etc… the Rainbow 🌈 is a sign of a covenant (contract) that God made with Noah and his family.
Grace & peace!
