“And a river came out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.” Genesis 2:10
The river of God flowed out of the City of Eden into the garden of Eden. A singular river was divided into four water fountains that became four rivers which flowed into the earth.
The river that came out of Eden was the power source for the trees of the garden. It was also the power source for the earth and for every living thing. It gave life to the tree of life that produced the fruit of life.
River=life=power
Eternal= unending
Life = power
Power=energy
The Source of Life- Spirit of God, aka the Holy Spirit
The Spirit of God= infinite knowledge, wisdom, ability
The Spirit of God is the Spirit of Life, the source of infinite power
It was the Spirit of God that moved upon the deep empty void of darkness and brought forth life, in its various different expressions of life.
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the waters.”
“And God said, Let there be…” God revealed “life” and demonstrate “life” when he called things into existence.
He revealed again when created man from the dust of the ground,
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7
It was the Spirit of God that entered into dust and transformed it into a living intelligent human being formed into the image and likeness of God.
We also see again, that the Spirit of God was working with men to fulfill God’s purposes in the generations of Adam that lasted from the creation until the days of Noah when God destroyed the earth with a flood. Men rebelled against God. God said,
“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” Genesis 6:3
The Spirit of God was striving with people to fulfill the purpose for which God created them. People rejected and fought against him. He was trying to get them to choose life. People lived an average of 900 plus years. Man’s lifespan was cut down to 120 years; a 10th of its natural ability.
People still work against the Spirit of God.
Revelation 9:20-21– Even after God’s correction, they refused to turn away from worshipping devils, idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood. They would not repent of their murders, sorceries, fornication and theft.
Men cursed God Revelation 16:9, 11, 21
How do we know that the river of God is the Spirit of God who is infinite power?
Revelation 22:1
“And he shewed me a pure river of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
Revelation chapter 22 unfolds the mysteries of Genesis chapter 2 regarding the garden of Eden. Instead of the river flowing out of the Eden into the garden. The river of life flows out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. It gives life to the tree of Life which in turn causes the nations to be healed.
Satan ‘s government Revelation 17:1-18
Satan’s government is described as a Whore who is fornicating with the great men of the earth. The Whore is described as the mother of whores and abominations of the earth. Satan working through the leaders of the nations made the people of their nations drunk with wine of her fornication. In other words, Satan relationship with the leaders of the nation is described as a relationship of fornication. And out of this relationship, people were made drunk with Satan’s wrath, his hatred.
“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of delicacies.” Revelation 18:1-8
Notice, after God judges Babylon the great, the Mother of Harlots and the Queen of Heaven, it becomes a prison for devils, the hold of every foul spirit and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. See Revelation 18:2
These demonic spirits are behind suicide, murder, drugs addiction, sex trafficking, acts hate and violence. A judgment is coming in which Satan alliance with the kings of the earth will be put out of commission. All it takes is one angel to come from heaven to earth bind Satan and throw him in a a bottomless pit. The only reason why it has not yet happen is because too many people are locked up in Satan’s hands. But the moment these people realize the awesome price God paid for their redemption, Satan’s hold and power over them comes to an end.
God put the river on the inside of us
The river of God is a gift.
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
Life is the light of men, and light shines into darkness, and darkness couldn’t put out light. God, who spoke light into the deep empty void of darkness, is the same God who is able to shine forth the light of life into your depression and break every stronghold.
The problem is, people love darkness more than the light. They could be healed of their depression and sicknesses. They choose the tree of the knowledge of GOOD and evil over the precious gift of life.
The gift of God is a well of living water springing up into eternal life, John 4:10-14
In John 7:37-39, Jesus cries out, ‘They that believe on me out of their innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. John said, Jesus was referring to the Holy Spirit which was not yet given.
Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
In each of these scriptures, Jesus is referring to the river of life that flowed into the garden of Eden and the river that flowed out the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Again, in John 10:10, Jesus said,
“The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.”
The big battle that we face day in and day out is choosing life over the tree of the knowledge of GOOD and EVIL.
How do we partake of the gift of life?
Get in the habit of daily study of the scripture, for Jesus said, “I am the bread of life” (John 6:48). Jesus said, he that believes on me hath everlasting life (John 6:47) My words are spirit and life (John 6:63).
Finally, Revelation 22:17, The Spirit and the bride say Come and take the waters of life freely!
