God commanded light to shine out of darkness!

God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness…

I was a marine on aboard a navy ship on a military operation. I remember attending a roll call late one night on deck. It was the blackest night I ever witnessed. Not a light on the sea. Not a star, couldn’t see the moon, nothing, totally black. The lights on the deck of the ship were dim.

This was my first time on board a ship. Space was cramped, and the sailors curse and cursed and cursed constantly.

Sometimes, you can find yourself in a black place surrounded by blackness and bleakness on all sides.

The vast empty void

I imagine when God created the heavens and the earth, he looked at the vast empty void that was full of darkness, a watery abyss. The Bible says the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the deep. The Spirit of  God moved upon the waters.

God said, “Let there be light: and there was light. God saw the light that it was good.”

Look at 2 Corinthians 4:6,

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath light in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Keep looking into the face of Jesus Christ for answers

2 Corinthians 4:7

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

The answer is in your heart and mouth!

“… Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (That is, to bring Christ down from above:) or, who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The Word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto righteousness.” Romans 10:6a-10
