Summer of ’67 – how Detroit changed forever in 5 days

I live through this rebellion, born and raised on the Eastside of Detroit, Michigan, on Goethe and McCellean.

I saw the outcome of this rebellion. Detroit was experiencing a revival in the 1960s. In the middle of this revival, a roit broke out.

I can say without a doubt that the gates of hell were opened, and through the 1970s in Detroit, hatred and murder raged.

Detroit achieved the title, “Murder Capital of the USA.” We reached a murder rate of  900+ people.
