Two Systems

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it was thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:19

The First System is Called Life

Adam was first formed from dust for his assignment on earth. He was taken from the ground. His job on earth was stewardship, working with the soil and seed.

God breathed the breath of life into Adam’s nostrils, and he became a living soul.

His assignment in the Garden of Eden involved offering a sacrifice. The system was perfect. The life flowed into it.

The Second System

Death

The second system is called death, introduced into humanity through sin. Death passed upon all because of one man’s disobedience.

Adam was given a choice: life or death

God has given us a do-over. He put the choice before us again!

The wages of sin are death, BUT the GIFT of God is eternal life.

The Gift vs the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

The gift of God is the restoration of everything initially given to Adam in the Garden of Eden.

The gift is the breath of life. When God formed Adam’s body from dust, he was lifeless until God breathed himself into Adam. Life is the power source.

Adam chose the knowledge of good and evil, evident in culture.

But the problem is, people don’t know how to receive the gift.

God created us to receive

When God formed Adam’s body from the dust, he made two eyes, ears, a nose, a mouth, and hands.  Every organ has one unique characteristic. They were created to receive information.

The information had nothing to with themselves, or their environment. They didnt know they were naked and were not ashamed.

They had only eyes for God. They drank in God’s glory until they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. From that point, their eyes were opened and refocused on themselves. They ran and hid themselves. Fear and inadequacy began to dominate their lives.

Jesus came to give abundant life. Satan comes to deceive you out of that life by getting you to focus on the knowledge of good and evil.
