Everything Adam received came as gifts. Dominion over earth. His image and likeness. Life was a gift. All the seed on the face of the earth and fruit trees were a gift.
The opportunity to work in the Garden of Eden was a gift. To eat from the fruit trees of the Garden of Eden was a gift. God gave him a beautiful wife.
But Adam, through sin, lost it all and became cursed.
