EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFTS COMES FROM ABOVE

God is good

James 1:17, “Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

There is nothing wrong with the gifts. The gifts are perfect. The gifts are designed to be good and perfect. Complete, more than enough.

The problem is not with the Giver of the gift. The problem is with the receiver.

The Giver of the gifts

The gift of grace, the gift of righteousness,  the gift of Christ, the gift of the Holy Spirit. The manifestation of the Holy Spirit is given to every person (1 Corinthians 12:7).

James 1:17, He is the Father of lights. 1 John 1:5, ‘God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. God is good. God is faithful, God is love.

The next word that describes God: in whom there is no variableness.” The word “variableness” is used only once in the Bible; it means “transmutation,” to change, to be fickle.

Fickleness describes someone or something unpredictable, likely to change frequently, and unreliable, often regarding loyalties, interests, or affections. It typically implies a negative, capricious, or faithless nature.

Another phrase used to describe God. James 1:17 is “there is no shadow of turning.” This phrase means something hidden, covered, fuzzy, a physical obstruction, or something technical.

Jesus came to heal all, but not everyone received healing

Jesus said in Matthew 7:11, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, HOW MUCH MORE SHALL your Father which is in heaven GIVE GOOD THINGS to them that ask him.”

The problem is not with the GIVER. It is always with the Receiver.

Jesus healed all in Matthew 8:16. That was his assignment, according to Matthew 8:17, “… Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”

In Matthew 12:15, he healed all. In Luke 6:19, he healed all.

But in Mark 6:4, he could only heal a few people. There was nothing wrong with Jesus. He was fulfilling his ministry. Acts 10:38, Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil for God was with him.

In Mark 6:4, He couldn’t heal all because of their perception of him. They judged him. They knew his family. They knew that he was a carpenter. They questioned his qualifications. They were offended in him. Their unbelief would not let them receive. The same thing is happening today!

There are people who could have been healed, but their opinions, ideas, traditions, wouldn’t let them receive healing.

Jesus said, ‘A prophet is without honor in his own country, among his own kin, and in his own family.’

Jesus exposed hidden motives

Jesus was speaking to Pharisees. They taught that people could say to their parents, “Corban,” and they would be free of the obligation to provide for them. God said to honor your father and mother.

“… Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” Mark 7:9

“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” Mark 7:13

Sarah’s testimony

Hebrews 11:11, “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”

Your healing, blessings, prosperity, and provision have already been brought and paid for in full.
