10. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and darkness comprehended it not. John 1:1-5

The playing field of Genesis 2:4-7, the dust of the ground from which man was created, God has made him a new creation, old things have passed away all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

The playing field has been leveled. Every one has an equal chance to have life and have it more abundantly, John 10:10

Level Playing Field, part 2

I served in one capacity after another for a majority of my life, starting with four years in the U.S Marine Corp at the age of 19. I served as a pastor for over 30 years. I served as a volunteer chaplain in the Wayne County Jail, Dickerson Detention Facility, Detroit Rescue Mission and the Detroit Police Department. I also prayed with a number of prayer groups both large and small.

Victim mentality

What I learned over this course of time is that there are always victims for one reason or another. Victims in the sense, that there are no jobs, can’t get a job. The system is unjust, unfair, racism, prejudices. I came across a Titok video where a man was raging against pastors and churches blaming them for not helping people in the streets.

I held worship services in the jails and homeless shelters. I bought into the lie that if people just knew that God would supply their needs, they would not have to be victims of an unjust system because God would supply their needs.

The Truth is

God put everyone on a level playing field. For example, Ephesians 2:4-7 says,

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13

I had a supervisor who always said, “The squeaky wheel gets the oil.” It seems like the people who make the loudest noise get the most attention.

“Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.” Psalms 89:14

The truth is, no matter how bad things look, God is still in control. He destroyed the world through a flood because of wickedness and no doubt, he is able to destroy it again. I have seen a lot of rainbows lately. It is because of his mercies that we are not consumed.

You determine your own future

A large part of my walk with God was spent being in bondage to the system of man one way or another. For example, my financial situation didn’t change until I realized that I can determine my future through the seeds that I sow. I became debt-free in a matter of 17 months during a pandemic, paying off a mortgage and a credit card.

If you don’t like the fruit in your life, check the seed; what kind of seed are sowing?

‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:7-9

Matter of Justice

Im talking about justice in the sense of righting wrongs! One area that I’m seeking justice in is, the mafia tax, the excessively high auto insurance rates that are being forced upon us because Satan’s children are stealing cars and filing false insurance claims.

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always pray, and not faint; saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: and there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth.” Luke 18:1-8

We are beginning to reap justice in the matter of excessively high insurance rates. Michigan drivers just received $400.00 rebate per insured car from the insurance industry.

Grace and Peace!

“Faith will get you out the ship, but trusting God will get you to the other side of sea without sinking.”

Watch “The First Principles Method Explained by Elon Musk” on YouTube

Hebrews chapters 5 verse 12, says

“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be THE FIRST PRINCIPLES OF THE ORACLES OF GOD; and are become such as have need of milk, and not strong meat.”

I know Mr. Elon Musk is speaking from a natural physical point of view. But there is a much greater revelation to be received in relation to the Word of God, particularly the mystery of God.

Matthew chapter 13 verses 35 through 36, reads “All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

The apostle Paul talks about the mysteries that were given unto him which were not revealed in other ages, See Ephesians chapter three verses 1 through 5.

The difference between the children of this world and the children of light is in their ability to leverage the resources of this world in such a way as to generate profits.

In Luke chapter 16 verse 8, Jesus said,

“And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.”

Understanding the first principles, gives you the ability to understand how God put the house (creation, See Hebrews 3:4) together. In order to do that you have to go back to the beginning, see Genesis chapter 1-3.

The children of this world may know how to take the laws and principles of business and profit from it. But the end purpose is always the same, do such ventures advance the kingdom of God, read James 4:13-15

The rich foolish man and the rich young ruler found that the pursue of riches is a waste of time. According to Luke 12:13-20, the rich foolish man died before finishing his dream. The rich young ruler walked away sad, Mark 10:22

For Revelation chapter 4 verse 11 reads

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

This one scripture explains the purpose of creation

-He created all things

-All things exist for his pleasure

-All things were created for his pleasure

Saint John chapter 1 verses 1 through reads “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; AND WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANY THING MADE THAT WAS MADE.”

Colossians chapter 1 verses 15 through 19, speaking of the supremacy of Christ,

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM, AND FOR HIM: AND HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS, AND BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST.”

Colossians chapters 1 verse 20, “And having made peace through the blood of his cross, BY HIM TO RECONCILE ALL THINGS UNTO HIMSELF; BY HIM, I SAY, WHETHER THEY BE THINGS IN EARTH, OR THINGS IN HEAVEN.”

According to Ephesians chapter 1 verse 22, He is the head of all things and all things have been put of under his feet,

Read Hebrews chapter three verse 1 through 4, reads

“WHEREFORE, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as HE WHO HATH BUILDED THE HOUSE HATH MORE HONOUR THAN THE HOUSE. FOR EVERY HOUSE IS BUILDED BY SOME MAN; BUT HE THAT BUILT ALL THINGS IS GOD.”

The calling of God

Go back to the beginning in Genesis chapter 3 verse 9, there is that calling of God back into position. Adam couldn’t come back into position because he was naked. He wasn’t just naked but death had begin to fasten itself in his body.

I have been a minister for over 30 years. I have served in several fields of ministry. I served as a volunteer chaplain in the Wayne County Jail, Dickerson Detention Facility, Detroit Rescue Mission, and as a Detroit Police Chaplain for 22 years. I served as a participant of several prayer ministries. One central theme that connects these ministries is brokenness. People are broken and are trying to medicate their wounds, like Adam, among the trees of the garden.

God has rebooted the system

Jesus is the Second Adam, First Corinthians 15 verses 45 through 49

Jesus is the beginning of a new creation. He is the first born from the dead. If any man be in Christ he is a new creation, old things have passed away behold all thing have become new! 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

First Peter chapter 2 verse 9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

For what purpose

According to Second Peter chapter 1 verses 1 through 4

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto all thing that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given to us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of him that hath CALLED US to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

Grace & peace!

Level playing Field

John the Baptist was called a fore-runner for the ministry of Jesus. He prepared the way for people mot be able to receive the ministry of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 40:3-5

“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made (4)straight, and the rough places (5)plain: and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and ALL FLESH SHALL IT TOGETHER: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”

In my Bible, there is the number 4 next to the word “straight” and in the margins it defines the or given clarification of what the word means in the Hebrew Language. In the scripture above is says, straight means “straight places”. The same thing with the word, “plain”. It means plain places.

When the priest and Levites from Jerusalem asked John the Baptist, “Who are you?” John the Baptist clearly says,

“He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.” John 1:23

John’s ministry leveled the playing field for ALL to able to received from the hand of God. God designed the system. We are living in a day and time where good people, smart people are not able to receive from the Hand of God. It’s not because God’s system is unfair, but the god of this world has blinded their minds so that they can’t receive.

1 John 5:19, says the whole world lies under the sway of wickedness or the Wicked One, as in the sense of a deep sleep. Comatose would be a good word to described the reality of darkness working in the hearts of unbelievers.

What was so unique about John’s ministry?

When I was growing up in my earlier Christian years, I was overwhelmed by a sense of lack and poverty even though I had a good job. I was in debt. I constantly struggled with inferiority. I was always depended on others for my needs.

What changed my life is when I finally realized that God made it possible for every single person to be able to receive from the hand of God. He made a way in the desert, a highway. He elevated every valley. He leveled the mountains and the hills. He made the crooked places straight and the rough places plain, in other words, he leveled the playing field.

God not only did that in Jesus and John’s day, but for all humanity today. Look at Ephesians 2:4-7

Although we are on earth, God has raised us and MADE us to be seated in Jesus Christ. There are no inequalities there. There is no lack, no sickness no disease. Politics and politicians doesn’t hold sway there. There are no holes, ditches, pits, afflictions.

Luke 4:18

Jesus read from the book of Isaiah 61 on the Sabbath day in his synagogue beginning in Luke 4:16-21,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captive, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable day of the Lord.”

The next thing that Jesus said, was so amazing, so overwhelming, so awesome, especially for me because when I understood what he was saying, I no longer saw myself as inferior, busted, broken, needing a loan just to survive for another day.

Jesus said, this

“And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture FULFILLED IN YOUR EARS.” Luke 4:21 (KJV)

THIS DAY, even our day and every other day is this scripture being fulfilled. How did his audience respond to him? They got offended and tried to throw him off a cliff, head first.

Even though Luke 4:18, tells us the playing field has be leveled, there is that inability to received from the hand of God.

We have all suffered from depression at one time or another in our lives. There is a depression so overwhelming that people sometimes seek suicide to escape its torment. But the good news is, God has leveled the playing field. It is as easy saying yes, I receive. Read Romans 10:6-13

He is the One who originally commanded light to shine out of darkness. According to 2 Corinthians 4:6, God commands the light of the knowledge of his glory to shine in our hearts.

John 1:5, Light shines in darkness and darkness could not put it out.

Satan can never put out The Light but he can convince you to say no what has been purchased and paid for in full, that is the grace and goodness of God.

Christ shall give you Light,

Ephesians 5:14, awake, arise from the dead and Christ shall give you light. This neutralizes anything and everything the world throws at you.

One thing about the Light, its effectiveness is in your ability to receive it, embrace it and give it time to work itself out!

I have come across people who have more faith in there sickness than they do in the goodness of God. Or maybe they were never told that the field of life has been leveled.
