Seedtime Harvest

Life

The Seed-Time Harvest always existed from the beginning.

God created seed time harvest process. There is a time for sowing seed. There is time for the seed to grow, and there is the harvest time.

God planted a garden eastward in Eden. He planted two special trees among many.

In Revelation 22:1-2, we see the two trees in full bloom.

Adam ate the sacrifice, and the ground was cursed. He lost his right to eternal life. Doom to return to the dust.

The Bibles is full of cycles called seed time harvest

There is a “completed creation cycle,” revealed in scripture

For example, God plants seed in Genesis, chapters 1-3

The time it took for the seed to grow through many generations, Genesis, chapters 4 through Revelation 19

The Harvest Season Revelation 20-22

The Lamb of God, the sacrifice, in a real sense, becomes the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

There are people in scripture who knew how to use the sacrifice:

Abel – He gave a more excellent sacrifice by which obtained witness that we was righteous

Enoch He escaped death because he pleased God, Hebrews 11:5

Noah – He and his family escaped the flood. Noah offered a sacrifice, and God removed the curse from off the ground, Genesis 8:20-22

Abraham- Genesis 22:1-18, God used his sacrifice to offer salvation to the world

Moses – There are many examples of Moses applying the sacrifice, from the Passover Lamb to securing Israel destruction from God wrath.

David – There are many examples of David offering sacrifices because he knew their value. He said,

2 Samuel 24:24, “… neither will I offer burnt offering unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost nothing…”

Solomon- Solomon built the temple. God said to him in 2 Chronicles 7:14,

“If my people, which called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The Reality of the Seed Time Season Cycle in Daily Living

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

So many times, the world paints the picture of injustice. It never tells you the consequences of the seed that was sown.

In Psalm 72, David said this about the prosperity of the wicked, ‘I almost gave up, and my feet slipped until he went into the sanctuary of the LORD and understood the end of the wicked. He saw their harvest season (Psalms 72:17).

Pray for wisdom to recognize how the sacrifice is connected to your life

People are detached from the consequences of their choices and actions.

We all have seed time harvest cycles running through our lives. The problem is that we have never understood how to apply the sacrifice, the blood of Jesus. For example, one among many benefits: we are accepted in God’s presence!

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.” Hebrews 10:19

Adam ran, but we can go and be accepted in the presence of God because a better sacrifice represents us before the throne of God!

The Sacrifice and the Generations

You can sow a generational pattern by sowing the right seed and making the right sacrifices.

Some facts about the harvest season:

God visited Adam in the harvest season.

The sacrifice is connected to your life and work. God said to Adam, “The ground is cursed for your sake.” Adam would eat of it in sorrow. He would sweat over it until he returns to dust.

The seed time harvest cycle is in the earth. For example, Genesis 2:4,

These are the generations of the earth…”

Generations can be defined as multiple seed time harvest events.

God visited Cain and Abel in the harvest season. Cain’s offering was rejected. Abel gave a more excellent sacrifice than Cain.

The curse creates a sense of desperation that is multiplied through the seed time harvest process.

Cain murdered his brother. The shedding of innocent blood increases the curse by sevenfold.

Genesis 4:23, Lemech killed a young man for attacking him. This blood shed continued to increase until God sent the flood of Noah’s day.

There is a pandemic of blood shed in our day and time. There are 1,250 intentional murders committed worldwide in a 24-hour period, 458,000 a year. Averages 52 every hour.

Noah’s Generations

Noah’s father saw something in him,

Genesis 5:29, Noah would comfort them concerning their work and toil of their hands because of the ground which the LORD cursed.

Genesis 6:9, “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.”

Harvest season of Adam’s generations

Adam’s generations ended at the great flood. Man’s lifespan was cut to 120 years. Out of possibility, millions and maybe billions of people, only Noah and his family, a total of eight came through the great flood.

The first thing Noah does when God instructs him to leave the Ark is that he builds an altar and offers a sacrifice. God is pleased with the sacrifice and lifts the curse from off the ground.

“And Noah builder an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offering on the altar. And the LORD  smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.” Genesis 8:20-21

“While earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22

Noah’s generation is summed up in Genesis 10-11. Genesis 10:9-10, Nimrod ruled over Babel. The whole earth was of one language and speech. God said nothing is impossible, which they imagine to do. The earth went from chaos to one language, speech, and an incredible ability to work together.

One thing brought the judgment of God, Nimrod was a mighty hunter before God. He exerted influence on the people to begin a building project would reach into the heavens and make a name for themselves. God said it was not good. So he confounded their language, and they stopped the building program.

Your seed time harvest season

You plant seed, and it’s going to grow. God will show up in your harvest season. We have a perfect sacrifice, Jesus Christ the Lamb.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap. For he soweth to his flesh shall corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

The Sacrifice AND THE HARVEST SEASON

The first thing Noah did when he got off the ark was build an altar and offer a sacrifice. God was pleased with the sacrifice and said,

“I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

The flood was a harvest of judgment

It is estimated that between millions and maybe billions of people perished in the flood. All of their hopes and dreams perished overnight. A man’s lifespan was cut to 120 years. The people of that day suffered because of the curse on the ground because of Adam’s disobedience. It didn’t have to end that way.

The Garden of Eden is a place of worship. Hebrews 8:1-2, says

“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the of the Majesty in the heavens. A minister of the sanctuary, and the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitch, and not man.”

When did God pitch this sanctuary, this true tabernacle, and not man?

Genesis 2:8, “And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed”

God planted two special trees. The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam’s responsibility was to dress and keep the garden. He wasn’t supposed to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He was supposed to dress the tree.

Adam had permission to freely eat from any tree in the garden. Nevertheless, he was not allowed to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That tree represented his sacrifice of worship.

God came to visit Adam in the cool of the day. Adam heard the voice of God walking in the garden. God calls out for Adam. Adam, where are you? Adam knew he was supposed to meet God at the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

After Adam ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he experienced spiritual death. He did not die a physical death until many years later.

How do we know this was the harvest season?

All creation works on the basis of seed time and harvest. This is a repeated pattern and constant cycle. Genesis 4:3 says that in the process of time, two brothers offered a sacrifice. They offered a sacrifice in the harvest season.

Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice than his brother Cain. Abel was a keeper of sheep, and he offered the “firstling” of his flock and the fat of it. The definition of “firstling” is “The first agricultural produce or animal offspring of a season.”

Cain offered the fruit of his land. He persisted in the old order. God dealt with Cain about his offering. God corrected Cain. He said, “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?”

Hebrews 11:5 says, Enoch was translated so that he should not see death. God was pleased with Enoch.

Here are a few facts about God

He is the original Architect, Hebrews 3:4

All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made, John 1:3

All things consist in him, Colossians 1:17

He upholds all things by the word of his power, Hebrews 1:3

Creation’s Seed Time Harvest from Genesis through Revelation

Genesis 2:1-4, God planted a garden eastward in Eden. He sowed seed.

Genesis 1, through Revelation 21, represent a process of time called the generations.

Genesis 2:4,

“These are the generations of the the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.”

There were many seed time harvest seasons in between the first sowing of the seed and the final harvest.

In Revelation, Chapter 22:1-2, creation is in full harvest. Paradise is the Garden of Eden, in full harvest. You have the throne of God and the river of life flowing out of the throne of God. You have the two trees that God planted initially in the Garden of Eden. You have the tree of life in full bloom. It yields a monthly harvest. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is represented as the Lamb of God. He is seated on the throne of God.

God places the Lamb of God on the throne of God. This act tells you how important sacrifice is to God.

The concept of sacrifice couldn’t have existed unless God created it in the beginning!

John 1:29, John the Baptist said, ‘Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world!’

One final thought:

According to Genesis 3:24, God drove Adam out of the Garden of Eden. He placed the Cherubim in the Garden. The Cherubim is a class of angels associated with worship. 2 Samuel 6:2: He is called the LORD of Hosts, who dwells between the Cherubim.

God loved the world so much that He sacrificed His only begotten Son. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sacrifice & Abel

There are people in scripture that God spoke highly, for example,

Hebrews 11:5, “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

Acts 13:22 “…He raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.”

God said this about Job the richest man of the east:

Job 1:8, “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil.”

God said, this about Abraham:

“And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him”? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him” Genesis 18:17-19

This is what God said about Abel:

“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” Hebrews 11:4

The conflict that exist between Cain and Abel was one of survival. Abel flourished because of his sacrifice. God said, it was more excellence sacrifice.

Why was Cain’s sacrifice rejected? Cain gave of the fruit of his ground. Abel sacrificed the ‘firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof.’

In Genesis 3:21, God established the pattern for provision. He shed the blood of innocent animals and he made clothes for them.

God said to Cain, “Why are angry and depressed?” God said, if you do what is required will you not be accepted? If not sin is waiting at the door and he desires you! God personifies sin by calling it HIM. And we know who him is, Satan! God said to Cain, “you must rule over him” Genesis 4:7

The earth wasn’t working for Cain. If you miss to many harvests, desperation is going to show up. In his desperation and frustration, he blame Abel. Cain took a rock and murdered his brother.

Next time on Secrets from the Garden of Eden, Noah offered a sacrifice that was well pleasing to the LORD. God then changed the course of the human race.

Grace and peace.

The Sacrifice is Connected to the Land

Photo by Sharath G. on Pexels.com

Adam’s primary job as far as the Garden of Eden was concern, was dressing the fruit. Adam made presentation of the fruit that fell from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This was his sacrifice of worship.

Two things among many happened

  1. The land was cursed, God said, “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: curse is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt eat of it all the day of thy life.” Genesis 3:17 (KJV)
  2. God placed Cherubims, “So drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way, to the tree of life.” Genesis 3:24

You have to keep going back to the beginning to understand why things are the way that they are! Adam broke covenant. He ate instead of serving. Adam was driven out of the Garden of Eden. This was because he had access to the tree of life. Doing so would have caused him to live forever in a spiritual fallen state. In Genesis 3:23-24 (KJV)

“And LORD God said, Behold man, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand , and take also of the tree of the life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.”

God placed Cherubims in the Garden of Eden facing east because that was probably the direction facing the throne of God. Cherubims are connected to the worship of God. They were a place holder until Jesus’ sacrifice had been made.

The Sacrifice

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perished, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)
