Nebuchadnezzar’s Idol, part 2

‘When you hear the music bow down and worship the golden image or die in a blazing fire’

History has a way of repeating itself

Nebuchadnezzar build a golden image in the plain of Dura. The image was 90 feet tall and 9 feet wide.

Daniel 3:2-7

“The Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the prince, governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king set up. Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriff, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: and whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast in the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.”

Why music?

Nebuchadnezzar build an idol of himself. He commanded all peoples, nations and languages to bow down and worship the image- idol. Since God created everything and without him nothing nothing exist that He did not make. So worship and the act of worship was instituted by him.

Ezekiel 28:11-15

“Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the Garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth: and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the mountain of God: thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou art was perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee”

A glimpse into eternity’s past

God gives us a glimpse into eternity’s past. The place is the Garden of Eden. God created an angel called the Anointed Cherub. Where have we seen this class of angels before? The Garden of Eden, Genesis 3:24. The Garden of Eden was a sanctuary. Adam was set there to dress and keep the Garden. Adam sin breached the whole of creation. God had to temporarily station Cherubims at the eastern gate. The Anointed Cherub was the leader of this class of angels. The attended to the worship and service of God.

The Anointed Cherub was beautifully adored with precious jewels. He was the total sum of beauty and wisdom. God created musical pipes into the make-up his body. He was perfect in his ways until iniquity was found in him. The Anointed Cherub led the heavenly host in worship among the angels. When He moved beautiful music flowed from his being. The Anointed Cherub ministered in three places, the Mountain of God, Garden of Eden, and the earthly sanctuaries of that day.

The King of Tryrus

Ezekiel was told to take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus. God wasn’t talking about a mortal man. He was addressing the spirit that was operating through king Tyrus. The spirit that was operating through Tyrus was Satan, the Anointed Cherub. The same spirit that was working through Nebuchadnezzar. We know this because no man walked on the Mountain of God. And no man other than Adam has been in the Garden of Eden.

Satan

Satan wasn’t only working through Nebuchadnezzar and Tyrus but he tried to get Jesus to bow down and worship before him. Satan took Jesus to a high mountain, showing him all the world’s kingdoms in their glory. Satan says to Jesus, ‘if you fall down and worship me, I will give you all this power and all shall be yours.’ See Matthew 4:8-10 & Luke 4:5-8.

Jesus said, “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, THOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD THY GOD AND HIM ONLY SHALT THOU SERVE.” Luke 4:8

Why is music so dangerous?

God created music for his pleasure. Worship alone belongs to God. Revelation 4:11,

“Thou art worthy, O LORD, to receive glory and honor and power: FOR THOU HAST CREATED ALL THINGS, AND FOR THY PLEASURE THEY ARE AND WERE CREATED.”

The true purpose of creation is for the pleasure of God. Therefore, God created all things for his pleasure. Genesis 2:5, says, there was no man to till the ground. This one passage of scripture defines the true nature of man. God created him to serve. But he also created him to share in the bounty of the works of his hands. Satan comes along because he once functioned in the role of worshipper, perverts music and turns it inward toward people’s souls. They are now worshipping things and people. For example, most rap lyrics glorify violence. But, if you listen closely to the songs, people are crying about being unable to live without someones love, just as Nebuchadnezzar turned worship toward himself.

Why is music so powerful?

Because music opens the soul. The soul is the most sensitive part of our being. God created the soul in man that allows him to worship.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and MAN BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” Genesis 2:7

The true miracle of man creation wasn’t when he was formed of dust. The miracle happened when the breathe of God touched dust it became a living soul breathing soul.

“O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon the earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.” Psalms 67:4-7

Nebuchadnezzar’s Idol

History repeats itself

Ecclesiastes 1:9-11

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.”

There is nothing new under the sun. What we see today has already been tried before.

The generations of Adam

The generations of Adam lasted from the Garden of Eden until the great flood of Noah’s day. In the generations of Adam, the average lifespan was about 900 years or more. Adam lived 930 years old, Genesis 5:5. Methuselah lived 969 years, Genesis 5:27. Noah lived 950 years, Genesis 9:29. After the flood, man’s lifespan was cut to 120 years old, Genesis 6:3.

There was a group of men who became gaints, mighty men, men of great stature and fame. They took as many wives as they chose, and these women bared many children. These men built dynasties, See Genesis 6:1-4. This created much violence and hatred in the earth. Every thought and imagination of people’s hearts was only to do evil.

Nimrod

God found one man by the name of Noah. God chose Noah and family to carry out his original blueprint. One of Noah’s descendants, Nimrod became a mighty man in the earth. He was described as a mighty hunter before the LORD. The beginning of Nimrod’s kingdom was Babel, Genesis 10:8-10.

God commanded Noah and his family to spread out, to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish the earth. But they eventually decided to build a city. Their goal was to build a city and tower whose top may reach into heaven. God came down to see their work, and he concluded that it wasn’t good and that nothing would be impossible to them because they had one common language. So he confused their language and scattered them across the earth.

Nimrod was trying to bridge the gap between the heavenlies and earth, but not according to God’s blueprint. That goal was further downline, but it wasn’t going to be accomplished by Nimrod. Adam’s sin reached into heaven itself and breached the connections between between both worlds.

Fast forward to Nebuchadnezzar

As we found out in yesterday’s post, Nebuchadnezzar received a dream from God that detailed the future of human government. Nebuchadnezzar created an image of himself being the head of gold. His government was the first world government. Daniel 3:1

“NEBUCHADNEZZAR the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.”

Similarities between Nimrod and Nebuchadnezzar:

Both men exercised great influence.

Both men chose a flat plain of land to build on. Nimrod leading the descendants of Noah, found a plain of land called Shinar and dwelt there. Nebuchadnezzar set his idol up in the plain of Dura.

Both men set up an idol to be worshipped. Nimrod set up a tower, and Nebuchadnezzar set up a golden image.

Behind the scenes, there is a spiritual government that is seeking to bring the whole human race under the ruler of the kingdom of darkness.

The Real Matrix

Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that he couldn’t remember. Nobody could help him remember this dream. So he ordered all his magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and Chaldeans to be destroyed, Daniel 2:12-13.

Nebuchadnezzar’s captain of the guard came to execute Daniel. Daniel sought extra time to make known to the King the interpretation of his dream.

Daniel and his companions sought God for mercy and for the answer to the kings request. A death decree was hanging over everyone’s head if the king had not received an answer to his request.

The secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision, Daniel 2:19.

This is the praise that Daniel offered after Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was revealed to him in a night vision.

Daniel 2:19-23 (KJV)

“Then the secret was revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: and he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.”

Daniel made known to Nebuchadnezzar, his dream and the interpretation. Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream a great image whose head was made of fine gold, his breast and arms of silver, his belly and thights of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part iron and part clay. The interpretation of the dream is in Daniel 2:36-45

The dream is a revelation of the Matrix. The governments of the system have been predetermined. We are living in the times of the ten toes of the beast. Notice the interpretation of the 10 toes:

“And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with Mary clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” Daniel 2:42-44 (KJV)

God had made known to Nebuchadnezzar what the is Matrix of man, Daniel 2:45.

According to Revelation 17:12-14, the ten horns shall make war with the Lamb. The Lamb shall overcome them : for he is Lord of lord and King of kings and they that with him are called, chosen and faithful.

Revelation 17:15-17

“And saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. FOR GOD hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, UNTIL the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”

The great city is Babylon, the system is first revealed in Genesis 11:1-9, where men said, “Let’s build a city and a tower whose top reaches into heaven.” God saw their plans and confused their language. The name of the city became known as Babel, confusion. It became a developed system under Nebuchadnezzar and is known by the name of Babylon. By this time, it is fully developed into a system of astrologers, soothsayers, magicians, and sorcerers. Also, see Isaiah, chapter 14:1-23 connects Satan as the actual ruler of this system called the Golden City!

Idol

Idols are things that people worship. Individual families can worship an idol. See Judges 17:1-13. Cities worship an idol of choice. The city of Ephesus was wholly given to the worship of the goddess Diana, Acts 19:35. A nation can be given to the worship of a particular idol. A group of nations can be influenced to worship the same idol. See Daniel 3:1-30, Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image.

The blueprint for creation

The blueprint for creation is set forth in Genesis, chapters 1-2.

God made man to till the ground, Genesis 2:2-5. His first assignment.

God place man in the Garden of Eden to dress and keep it. He was instructed concerning the trees, “eating you shall eat.” The trees of the Garden were good for food and pleasant to the eyes. Adam was supposed to protect the garden, especially the tree of life.

As far as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is concerned, he was instructed not to eat the fruit of this tree but dress the tree. Or to arrange the fruit of the tree in an orderly fashion.

On the day of visitation, God meant with Adam at this pre-arranged place, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The place of sacrifice. This fruit gave off a distinct odor. It was a sacrifice that was well-pleasing to God, Genesis 8:21; Ephesians 5:2.

Fast forward to Revelation 22:1, there we see another sacrifice, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God seated in the throne of God.

The exaltation of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God to the right hand of God, tells you how much ‘the sacrifice’ means to God.’

The positioning of the Lamb of God in the throne room tells you how much ‘the right sacrifice pleases God’, see Revelation 5:6.

Revelation 5:6-14, see the worship that is centered around him.

God swears every knee shall bow to him and every tongue confess, Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11; and Philippians 2:9-11

I say the right sacrifice because we don’t get to choose the sacrifice. According to Genesis 4:1-8; Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God. Cain offered the fruit of his garden, and Abel offered the firstlings of his flock. One was a fruit offering, and one was an animal sacrifice. God accepted Abel’s sacrifice, and he rejected Cain’s sacrifice.

The sacrifice was changed as a result of sin from fruit based sacrifice to an animal sacrifice.

Because all creation is a worship system based on sacrifice, Abel fields, and flocks, enjoy the favor of God. Cain was depressed and he killed his brother in a jealous rage. God dealt with Cain about his sacrifice. But Cain chose to persist in his own ways.

Another interesting note concerning this system of worship after Adam was driven from the Garden of Eden is that God placed Cherbims in his place (see Genesis 3:24). Cherbims are angels associated with worship and service.
